This Make Do &Mend Brooch measures 31mm.
 
My work bench is FULL of little scraps of silver sheet from various projects.
 
One day, procastinating from what I was supposed to be doing, I sat there as if doing a jigsaw, piecing the scrap together.
 
Each section has been textured with scraps of fabric (mainly from holey clothes my girls have grown out of). Each section is then joined and soldered together to make one piece and cut into a circle.
 
This brooch has been oxidised (blackened) and 2 sections adorned with gold leaf. To highlight all the individual pieces, tiny holes have been drilled and then embellished with silver thread (wire) and red silk thread making these individual 'scrap' pieces into one.
 
This is when I realised, scrap can be beautiful!
